written by your body

Why harbor such disdain within your soul?

You wound and berate, a heartless toll.
You feast on hate, a glutton we abhor.

I know you better than none before,
I quicken your pace when thoughts explore.
My warmth wraps you in hair-spun grace,
Fatty jackets, shielding you with my warm embrace.

When will you see you're not me?

I'll walk you to the sweet hereafter, let your spirit roam free.
Should my bones shatter and minds eclipse overtakes,
I'll cast my solitary shadow, make no mistake.

You'll see, in the end, you stand alone,
Your mind, the one thing you truly own.
So carry on, never yield,
Your mind, your sanctuary, your greatest shield.
