Just waking up
My ears are blasted by my phone.
I wake up in her soft arms.
Stilly groggy, I take a look at my device.
My eyes are burned by the bright light.
"What's wrong?" she asks.
"I need to wake up," I say.
"No, stay a little longer. Please?"
"Don't have to ask me twice." I add a new hour to my alarm
and go back to sleep.

Once again, my ears are being bombarded with the alarm.
In the same state as I was before, I look at my phone.
Again, my eyes are scorched as they look upon the bright screen.
"Can you turn that thing off?" she asks.
"I would, but I must wake up and prepare for my day."
"I don't want you to leave. Just a little while longer?"
"Oh, fine..." I say as I prime my alarm once more.
Again, I fall under her spell and sleep for the second time.
It makes sense that she would feel more needy than usual.
I didn't give her any attention until the early morning hours.

I wake up and turn my alarm off.
"Please don't leave!" She grabs at me.
"It's already ten in the morning.
I'll miss breakfast."
"But you can eat later! Just stay with me."
"Foul temptress, get off me!" I say as I pull out of her grip.
I finally climb out of bed and sigh.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean it... I'll see you tonight, and then we can talk."
I get ready for breakfast and head out of my room.
