A nostalgic remembrance of the T-shirts of the 1970's
One said 'I'm with Stupid'
with a sideways pointing hand
Archie Bunker for President
The struttin' Doo Dah Man
Cheap Trick, Cheap Trick, Cheap Trick
Fonzie sayin' 'Hey'
Lots of Pittsburgh Steeler ones-
'cause I'm from out that way
Bad Company and Farrah
Waylon and STP
Licensed Sex Instructor-
the first lesson is for free

The T shirts of my youth sure had their day
some were lost or stolen
and others thrown away
Some got laughs and some just looks
with the little things they'd say
But the t shirts of my youth sure had their day

Big old Rolling Stones lips
Do unto others then split
Someone one went to Florida-
and all I got was this lousy shirt
Virginia is for lovers
Maryland is for crabs
7-Up, Coke, Pepsi
Mountain Dew and Tab
Jimmy Walker sayin' 'Dy-no-mite!'
Freddie Prinze sayin' 'Looking Good!'
and about a hundred others
I'd remember if I could

But the T shirts of my youth sure had their day
some were lost or stolen
and others thrown away
Still more like old soldiers
seemed to merely fade away
But the t shirts of my youth sure had their day
