Poem based on Writing.com community challenge.
We’re performers for the raving crowds.
Command performances come naturally,
When you’ve learned the art of faking it.

We’re two jesters in this traveling troupe.
But the cast is always changing…
There are so many roles to play.

We’re two masquerading fools.
Can you even really see my face,
What I truly look like inside?

We’re both madly-loving haters.
One look in your direction, love…
I want to hold AND hurt you.

We’re both liars: manipulators.
Not a word of truth between us.
But I hang on your every word.
