You came here for peace.
You came here for peace
yet you are still in pieces.

You left your war-torn lands
in search of a better life.

You opened your heart and hands
only to receive poverty and strife.

America was built on dreams
a mirage of hope, not what it seems.

Your faith is shattered by broken promises
freedom has a price.

You sit alone without solace
without a home or rights.

You came here for peace
Now all they want is for you to leave.
