Spring is trying but ...


Not Yet

January thaw prompted spears
of daffodil green. And yet, two weeks later
Spring has been intimidated
by falling temps no matter what
the groundhog said.
Anemic flakes fall listlessly, not really
accumulating, but resting
pale and cold beneath a leaden sky
