metaphorical poem
"Why can it never just be us" I said to the earth
"because of the sun" earth simply says back to me
"I will never understand, I have always been closer to you always here for you, I would do anything for you. my whole world revolves around yours" I argue
"your world may revolve around mine but mine revolves around the sun"
it's the same argument I hear every time I bring this up. I never say it out loud but it's no secret the sun is bigger, brighter and better. The sun has always given off more light than me no matter how you put it.
and the truth is without the sun I give out no light at all
the sun is always there, shining off me even when I want to be alone
and so I've realized I will never matter as much as the sun. I've learned to fade away
But sometimes I want to be remembered by the earth
So I shine bright all night and stay in the sky all day
And even that doesn't matter to earth anyway
