Even sponges have their limit
I cannot be your sponge
when things go wrong and you need to share.
I am not a sponge
that absorbs your frustration and discontent.

Sponges eventually fill-
even the Magic Eraser breaks from overuse.
I am your sponge.

But I am not magic- far from it.
I am human
and I am your daughter.

I am overwhelmed
overworked
overused
underpaid
underprotected
and undervalued.

My body, mind, health
are slowly crumbling.
Like the melamine foam sponge,
I am breaking from your overwhelming force.
