I have never done well being boxed or living in other people's boxes.
I will remain ostensibly audacious,
in the face of far too many scowling disapprovals,
will I follow my own heart and sing it all anyway.
I will remain ostensibly audacious,
When it all comes down to interpretation of what
the world decides of me,
I will remain with heals dug in into trenches,
that has already marked my being.
I will remain ostensibly audacious,
When words type me into brackets ready assign
shame; hate; disgust or aggravating frustration.
I will remain ostensibly audacious,
as you trample the right to breathe between breaths,
keep moving ahead even if when pushed into the mud,
Worked to the bared bones of every ounce given,
Still be here ready to be heard, seen, with fist-pumping up,
I will remain ostensibly audacious.
