A poem about a rat keeping someone up at night.
I couldn't sleep
It was because of that
The rat
He skittered and scattered
Making the floors
Whisking a sour symphony
Penatrading it into my ears
My ear-lids continue to drop
It was because of that
The rat
He shirked and cried
Waking the others
Callamating a posse of noise
Surrounding my ears with stabbing screams
My head is fuzzy
It was because of that
The rat
He leaped and jumped
Shattering the plates
Cracking my eardrums
My pillow is wet from tears
It was because of that
The rat.
