How do you miss people you love?
Whenever someone is missing you
brooming some ocean to a swimming pool
sitting with sharks that are mothers
telling them all their troubles

what's with the rent that I'm paying
where's the good fish you were saying

pulling me like a wave out of the fire
smoothing my shoulders when I'm tired

The desert yearns to see a flower in season
running through it's blood bearing gifts that are pleasing

chewing on the ends of the licorice
saving something sweet for your ears
bending them like book pages
stealing what the best say to their lovers
