Fragile Freedom

Freedom is fragile as it is not free
rare it is for a country
almost all on this earth
get slavery at their hearth
Instead of freedom to speak
let down and forgotten, need
expression of the soul to be free.

Freedom is fragile as it is not free
remember those who died for thee
entering their blood so you can speak
ending their life so the stars you reach
don't think we don't need to fight
on and in every generation in sight
making this country free for you and me.

Freedom is fragile as it is not free
remember we need to fight tyranny
answer the call when it knocks on door
get up, stand up, speak up, or lose yours.
It needs you to remember history
like how people are told what to think
ending your freedom to think free.

Freedom is fragile as it is not free
reason and deep thought is how you keep
enemies of freedom from taking what is yours
earning your right to be free, forever more.
Don't expect another to earn it for you
or hand it to you on a silver platter too
make sure you understand what freedom is.

Freedom is everyone's job.
