I need some food
With a knock at the door
And a kick with the shoe
Came a wondering mouse, looking through .
He said “May where you be!”
-
I'm lost and alone, can you lend me a clue?
Seeking warmth and shelter, is there room for two?
In this cold and dark night, I'm feeling so blue.
With crumbs on your floor, I smell food, it's true.
I heard tales of your kindness, they spoke of it too
From the fields and the meadows, I've traveled to you.
Through the cracks and the crevices, I've journeyed anew
In search of a friend, one loyal and true
With tiny paws weary, and fur damp with dew.
Through the hustle and bustle, I've found my way through-
With hopes high and spirits bright, I greet you
In your cozy abode, I see comfort in view.
From the shadows I emerge, a visitor so few.
With curiosity piqued, I venture to pursue.
Through the maze of the city, I've wandered to you.
With tales of your generosity, they spoke of it too.
From the wilderness vast, I've come to imbue.
In this vast world so wide, I've found solace in you-
With a timid heart beating, I ask, 'May I come in too?'
