This was my life at one time
Dear Tequila, my constant companion in the dark,
I cling to you like a lifeline, leaving my doubts stark.
The way you numb my pain, it's both a curse and a balm,
Leaving me trapped in this cycle of self-harm.

Every night I reach for you, drowning my sorrows deep,
In your amber depths, my secrets silently keep.
But as the sun rises, shame creeps into my core,
Regret and guilt flood in, leaving me wanting more.

Addicted to the escape you offer, yet shackled in remorse,
I chase your fleeting high, a futile, endless course.
Dear Tequila, the source of my joy and my despair,
In your intoxicating grasp, I'm ensnared.
