A tale of a lost love that spanned decades, only to be found again.
In the quiet of the night, where shadows danced against the walls of her bedroom, Everleigh found herself enveloped in a silence that was both comforting and suffocating. The television flickered, casting a soft glow that barely reached the corners of the room, the sound of waves crashing against the sand playing on a loop. It was his favorite sound, the one that lulled him to sleep each night. Now, it was a haunting lullaby, a reminder of what had been.

She had opened her heart and home to Declan, her old flame, rekindled after decades of carrying the ember of their love. Together, they wove a tapestry of family life with her children, laughter echoing through the halls, and tender moments shared in the sanctuary of their love. He had become their protector, their unexpected hero, a father figure who loved with a ferocity that matched the passion he had for her.

But one morning, the tapestry unraveled. Declan was gone, vanished as if he were a figment of her imagination. No note, no whispered goodbye, just the ghost of his presence lingering in the air. Confusion clouded Layla's mind, a storm of questions, the betrayal cutting deeper than any wound. The man who had promised forever, who had offered her a world she had only dreamed of, had left a chasm of silence in his wake.

Night after night, as her children's breaths deepened in sleep, Everleigh lay awake, the darkness a shroud over her once vibrant spirit. The waves on the television were a cruel mimicry of the waves of emotion that crashed over her, relentless and unforgiving. She remembered the way his eyes crinkled when he laughed, the warmth of his hand in hers, the safety she felt in his embrace. Now, all she felt was the cold absence, the loss that seared through her like a winter chill.

The bed became her world, a place where memories played in in her head over and over each night, each one a sharp intake of breath, a fresh tear. She couldn't understand how love so deep could turn into an abyss so vast. Her heart ached for answers, for closure, but all she had were questions that echoed in the emptiness.

her tears were a silent river, flowing in the solitude of her grief. They spoke of love lost, of dreams shattered, of a future that had slipped through her fingers like grains of sand. As the waves continued to play, a testament to a love that once was, she held onto the hope that one day, the pain would ebb away, leaving behind the strength to face a new dawn.
