The things you see when you look a little closer.
I saw a swallow fall from the sky today.
I saw a poor boy begging in the streets,
asking passersby for money.

I saw a horse pulling a carriage,
and I saw his driver with whip in hand
being lashed by the voice of his tenant.

I saw a fish in the marketplace.
I saw a fisherman being netted by the merchant,
Who bought his catch for a low price.

I saw a crow sitting on a lofty statue,
and I saw a dignitary giving a speech,
from high upon a regal balcony.

I saw the businessmen on their way to work.
I saw the road, on which they walked,
even and structured, bland and unimaginative.

I saw a mime trapped in his invisible box,
and I saw the people of the city,
going about their day, eyes blind to it all.
