Short poem about moving on
I once stood strong with you by my side,
but for you, our love had died.
You shook my foundation with each shudder from cold lonely nights,
but I won't dissolve this time, you're not worth the fight.
I fired the foreman trying to repair my heart,
it was bruised not broken, and that bastard tried to charge.
You hurt in the moment, but live past that pain,
I won't even let the memories remain.
Maybe I'm jaded, or just used to it now,
but I'll move on and figure it out somehow.
