Just now my province here in Philippines experienced a 10 minute rain after a long summer.
After ten minutes of relentless pour,
The rain, a torrential downpour,
Yet now it wanes, its fury spent,
Leaving behind a tranquil scent.

The air, refreshed, with moisture kissed,
As droplets cling, where they persist.
A gentle breeze, a whispered sigh,
Underneath a softened sky.

The earth, now bathed, in liquid sheen,
In every crevice, the rain's serene.
Birds chirp anew, with joyful trill,
As nature wakes from its momentary still.

Though brief, the rain's relentless beat,
Its aftermath, a calming treat.
For in its wake, a world reborn,
In every drop, new life is sworn.
