Eve was serene and cool as a summer morning... But Lilith...
AN EXPLANATION

Eve was serene and cool as a summer morning.
Eyes like the clear June skies, no thought of strife
Troubled their depths of limped blue, but Lilith--
Lilith was April vibrant with young life.

Eve was as chaste as ice or chiseled marble,
Steadfast and strong and true, forever the same,
Perfectly innocent, perfectly pure, but Lilith--
Lilith was living flame.

Eve was strong with a brave, unshrinking courage,
Facing the fiercest tempest, calm, unmoved;
I honored her, but little trembling Lilith--
Lilith, I loved.
