Tears of rage.
The Key Toss Ceremony

Our white cottage with red shutters,
Perfumed gardens, clean winds, and
Endless blue-sky summer.

Insert the key, fling open the door,
Just you and me, in our fair and
Humble home by the sea.

This will be our warm port, quiet harbor,
Soft asylum, fine and
Humble home by the sea.

Insert the key, fling open the door, the intruder steps in.
Thin suit, Polo stench, leather brief,
Materialize, to end my disbelief.
An ice age descends on our
Fair and humble home by the sea.

Pedal to the point, the end of the world, the
End of the jetty.
Secure the sinker and throw so the
Muscles pull.

Sail and flicker.

Fling shut the door, the key
Drawn down,
Down,
Down,
To a fine and humble home
At the bottom of the sea.
Our fair and humble home
Writhes at the bottom of the sea.
