Poem inspired by Sept. 11
Voices crying toward Heaven,
Begging for the pain to cease.
Seeking safety, any haven
Waiting for a rescue, a release.
Each moment that passes by
Is an eternity between Heaven and Hell.
Their souls overcome with strife,
Misery and longing reside here as well.
They are sisters, sons and brothers,
United in sorrow and death.
Fathers, daughters and mothers,
Silent as they cry their last breath.
All too sudden their lives were ended
As evil entered their lives.
Their bodies broken, bleeding, bended,
Children lost parents, husbands lost wives.
Countless tears will be shed,
Though time goes on and on.
Our world will never forget those dead
Whose spirits will never be gone.
