True love in waiting.
She was a lady in waiting
For her entire life
A gent came along
And left her with pain and strife

She looked to no other
For he was all she wanted
Though it turned out
Her faded memories only haunted

She waited for the day
That he would come back to her
Just a thought of a faded moment
And how her mind would stir

Many tried to court her
But it was all in vain
She was impossible to reach
She was so filled with pain

So they all sat back
And watched her wither away
As she waited with no avail
For her suitor to come back and stay

She grew very old
Still hanging on to his love
She believed in her heart
They would meet in Heaven above

One quiet morning
She died while she slept
Dreaming of the love
That she forever kept

They say some nights
If you look up at the nights charms
You’ll see them dancing amongst the stars
Grasped tightly in each others arms
