Some times night are long and lonely. Always there is the dawn.
There is joy that comes creeping across the night,
It comes like the dawn waking across the hills,
Sneaking in at the cracks of the door of my heart,
Flooding past the loneliness and years of waiting..

Each night, I turn upon my pillow, loneliness aching,
Prayers for a friend, all my wants and needs,
Placed within my saviors hands, who lovingly
Takes each upon his heart, and bids me sleep,

Again to rise, tears aching, heart breaking,
Feeling of being left as one dead, and then
The joy like the sun flooding my being again,
As the sun rises and a new day begins…

One day the sun will rise, but not here,
And I will not rest in night any longer, but rise
To greet my Savior in a song, and dancing
Before him I will laugh, with joy unspeakable.

Till then the days go on, and I wait still and turn
My heart to him each night, seeking solace..
For it is here I find the doorway to the hope
That life is not in vain, and the love inside me has purpose.
