when they leave the nest.....
"Baby Bird"

baby bird is leaving the nest,
sing though your heart is breaking.
No longer needs her mother's breast,
celebrate the road she's taking.

Knowing tiny wings grew for a reason,
but choosing to ignore the coming season.
Crush the grapes, drink the wine
throw open the door
and let the sun shine.

Having felt the power of the storm
and the sadness of night,
letting go these little ones
somehow doesnt seem quite right

One night you read a story,
tuck them in,
turn out the light,
next thing you know
they're waving, and
driving out of sight.

But crush the grapes,
drink the wine
entrust her to God and His design
sing though you're heart is breaking
and celebrate the road she's taken.
