A verbalization of a forbidden realization
Forbidden

They say the good things are worth waiting for
but you’re bound to take your toll
because this burning and this yearning
has gotten way out of control.

I’ve extinguished my last cigarette
taken the last sip from my whiskey bottle
still every time I think of you
my pulse races like a throttle.

So don’t tell me what you think I need
just give me what I want
‘cause you linger in my darkness
like a ghost who has to haunt.

Though I'm embarking on a course
from which I may not be forgiven
I would sell my soul to touch you
for just one taste of the forbidden.
