Are you afraid of the dark?
Running footsteps echo in the distance,
Leaving me alone,
A lonely gate screeches over the wall,
The dark alley encloses me.
The fear on my face is impossible to hide,
And even if it weren't, the night would see
it.
The night sees everything,
I can hear him laughing now,
Laughing because I think I can stand up to
him,
Laughing because he knows that nothing is
as all-powerful as darkness.
"You can run, but you can't hide,"
He says in a high-pitched cackle that
echoes through my head.
And he is right,
Nothing can ecape the eventuality that is
darkness,
No one is immune.
They say we should just accept it,
A part of life,
Just as life itself,
But even now I can hear him,
He is coming,

And he is laughing....
