When the world around you crumbles and there is nothing to hold on to
I watch as an old friend
passes me by unnoticed
without a smile or a wave
how much more of our
friendship can I save
before I realize there
never was one?
Another piece of the earth
crumbles away
into the black abyss of life

I feel my father
pushing me farther away
from his love, showing his hate
It hurts to know that
this must be due to fate,
but why does it still have
to happen?
Another piece of the earth
crumbles away
into the black abyss of life

I watch the days
as they go by so quickly
leaving me so little time
Sometimes I wonder why I'm
here, what else could I find
that would keep me here?
Another piece of the earth
crumbles away
into the black abyss of life

As the last of the earth
crumbles away
I try to grasp onto what
could possibly save me
there is no more trust,
no more hope, no more feeling
all lost into the black abyss
of the poor excuse of life
