self-inflicted pain
blood flows from fingertips-
mistake made yet again
fresh regret but still the old,
do it again day after day

can't place the reason
is the reason why it hurts
control the pain for a moment,
losing control in the same

reminder always there-
pulsing, throbbing its' beckoning:
"do it again, just one more slice",
do it again day after day
