I'm the proud parent of four children. This is dedicated to them.
THEY'RE MY KIDS

They're my kids! They're my kids!
They're loved by their Momma and me.
They're my kids! They're my kids!
I'm as proud as a Daddy could be!

Sometimes they are weak. Sometimes they are strong.
Some choices are good, a lot of them wrong.
One thing I know, whatever they'll do,
God has a plan for them, and He'll follow it through.
They're my kids!

John's a mild and quiet, kind man
Who can sing like an angel and loves playing in bands.
He tends to be a dreamer. Good thing he's got a wife
Who keeps his feet on the ground and an edge on his knife.
That's my boy!

John took his family and moved in with Mom and me,
But he had to move out to be the man that he should be.
Well, he had a long talk with his dear wife, Mandee.
So, he loaded up is car and moved to "Virginy!"
(No swimmin' pools!
No movie stars!)
That's my boy!

Sam is a spirited and bright young man
Who is sharp with his wits and quick of hand,
But for weeks he'd come home with a different tattoo,
Had both ears and his tongue and his eyebrow pierced through!
That's my boy?

On that tragic day when the Towers came down,
There was a change in his life, a new purpose he found.
His patriotic blood began to flow that day,
So he joined his fellow soldiers to protect our way.
That's my boy!

Mark has always been as stubborn as a mule.
What he set his mind to he'd always follow it through!
As a boy we told him not to climb a tree one-day.
No surprise, he ended up with a cast on his leg!
That's my boy!

God's got a special plan for him. He made it clear
In chilling water on a dark, moonless night so drear.
It was too cold. He couldn't live. It was my greatest fear.
By God's grace he survived! I've never shed so many tears!
That's my boy!

When he got out of school he made the Army his life.
His country came first so he gave up his future wife.
He learned a new tongue; got a medal. I asked why?
He said he couldn't tell me. If he did, I’d have to die!
That's my boy!

Now John and Sam both made the same mistake.
Each married a girl outside of his faith.
But God had a plan that was beyond my sight.
And saved those girls by His grace and made them daughters of Light.
They're my girls (now)!

When Rachael came along, it was quite a surprise!
God had it in his plans that we adopt those blue eyes!
No words on earth can describe this precious bond!
She took to my heart like a fish to a pond.
That's my girl!

It was fun to watch her play with her little girl toys.
Now it's tough being Daddy to my little "Tom Boy!"
When I went to take her shopping for her clothes one day,
They pointed that the boy's dressing room was that way!
That's my girl?

She's a teenager now, going to start in high school.
With her God given looks she's going to make the boys drool!
The time is coming soon when my heart she'll break,
When the Lord, in His love, gives her a husband to take.
She's still my girl!

That's my girl! That's my girl!
She's loved by her Momma and me!
That's my girl! That's my girl!
I'm as proud as a Daddy could be!

Sometimes she is weak. Sometimes she is strong.
Some choices are good, a lot of them wrong.
One thing I know, what ever she'll do,
God has a plan for her and that He'll follow it through.
That's my girl!
