Let me describe what is hidden behind my eyes.
What was once lined silver,
sparkling amongst the jewels
of life and time
once sublime, divine,
once beauteous, harmonious
now covered in shades of gray.
No longer taking for granted
simple light
trickling through
deepening hues,
till blinding shadow forms
and begins the maddening
process that asphyxiates.
My sight becomes
as the witching hour of night,
cast in growing gloom.
and at the door of death
that one light shines,
a slight break,
a glimmer of hope,
in this shadowed imitation of night.
Soon to be extinguished
like the light of a candle
being blown out
by the winds
of hell and death.
Now breathing, and
existing, in this midnight,
only feeling with a sixth sense
seeing with a third eye,
or so it may seem,
since it is only
a manifestation
of this mind,
brought on by a ponder,
a deliberate meditation
into things seen,
creating these shadows
now unseen by all,
solely existing
in my own mind's eye.
My insanity bewitches,
allowing me to die in this darkness.
My future lies,
lost inside,
the shadows
behind my mortal eyes.
