A poem dedicated to a dear friend
Thru happiness and sorrow
I am ever so grateful
With each breath of tomorrow
Heals my sorrow

Slowly but surely
I am finding true reason
To love and forgive
With each fall season

I never said I was sorry
Time would not wait
Who can I blame
It's an automatic trait

Unfair as it may be
I've learned not to hate
For years I blamed you
Damning your fate

My anger over you
Always in my thoughts
I hated me too
I thought I was at fault

For tonight I understand
Depression and its fame
A love that didn't withstand
Is what I will blame

Regret will live with me
Not one call did you make
If you could only see
My heart break

Leaving everything behind
Your own life you took
Second thoughts never found
Not even a second look

A cold marble stone
bathed in the morning dew
I know you are alone
I whisper a prayer for you

God I love and miss her
I pray her soul to take
Have mercy on her
Love and give her faith
