Affliction may come, yet I rest in Thee.
I Say A Prayer

Author:
Dawn K. Smith

They cross their fingers…I say a prayer
They make a wish…I say a prayer.

They use Your name without a care…
I use Your name and say a prayer.

They speak in secret things of shame…
I speak Your word and praise Your name.

The things they seek don’t satisfy…
I’ll trust in You until I die.

Their house will crumble to the ground…
I have a mansion Glory bound.

Earthly ties encumbered by chains…
Mine are heavenly; Jesus reigns!

“Good Luck”, a phrase to convey success…
I prefer to say, “God Bless”.

“Knock on wood” to hinder calamity…
Affliction may come, yet I rest in Thee.
