I am glad I found the heart to understand men's distinctive silence and solitude.
A pair of flaming eyes stared mockingly
into the unfathomable darkness.
Cold, distant and aloof--completely lost
and defeated by a fully blown Rose.
Yet, out of that contemplating darkness
emerged a shining petal, glowing beautifully,
as clear as crystal and as strong as steel,
provoking further contempt and more odium
to the ever-hardened frame chiseled by time itself.
The disdained look that bored a thousand sunsets,
covetously willing to prompt the world into battle
is now conquered by a thorny, beautiful Rose,
which proves to me that behind the charade
of strength and muscles, lies the soft
and vulnerable heart of the man.
