this is my poem about Canada
Just close your eyes and try to remember,
what we`ve lost and what we`ve gained.
The clear blue sky and the loon`s lullaby.
The mystic lakes and mysterious pines.
A lone wolf`s howl and the cry of a hawk.
Come walk with us and hear our song,
of golden wheat, clean air and the sparkling river.
The whispering breeze brings promises on its wings.
The air chills, the leaves it kills and we stand still.
Barren land, the gold of summer gone,
and in its wake, it leaves us to break.
Gone is the spring and summer full of life,
in comes the howling wind.
Icicles, frost and freezing.
Snowboarding, sledding and skiiing.
All is not abandoned, not all is forgotten.
The wind quiets, the rain splatters.
The sun comes out and warms us.
The robin sings and it`s a sign of spring.
Grass grows and lakes over flow, life begins anew.
We are the trees, proud may we be, we have seen it all.
Just close your eyes and try to remember.
