Untitled

Afraid that they would take it from him

He held it so close that

He himself couldn't see it

Gifts buried under decades of dust

Smothered by the urgencies of life's experience

The importance of inner-self neglected

For what seemed to be immediate gain

He hides his gift so well

He can't find it at will

Has to summon assistance from other than self

To locate what was once within his reach

He holds this gift within his reach

Never on display

Never hidden

No longer does he fear envy, jealousy or theft

Nor those who take pride for vanity

No longer dreaming in black and white

He is not afraid

His gift to us:

The colors of the rainbow
