A poem about what an aborted child might have been
I might have been a happy child,
content with all I had,
I might have been your best friend,
to laugh as well as cry when we were sad.
I might have made a difference
to the world all around,
but I guess we'll never know,
what I might have done won't ever be found.
I'll never laugh with my friends,
I'll never kiss a boy and blush,
I'll never worry about what to wear,
or ever be in a rush.
When you sleep at night,
what do you dream about?
Do you ever wonder,
do you ever think
of all the things I'll never do?
I won't ever fall in love,
I'll never walk down the aisle with
a smile that says I'm just for him.
But what hurts the most,
what causes pain,
I won't ever have a child to love,
to hold so close and claim,
to show that I would not do the things you did,
Because...
I know what I might have been!
