my reflections on the approaching school year
September’s approaching,
I feel the dread.
My hopes, my dreams, my carefree life-
All dead.
Good-bye to August,
Good-bye to June.
I’ll spend the rest of my days
In a blue-padded room.
That’s just the way
The world works my friend-
A strange, sadistic cycle
Until the cold, bitter end.
The happy times,
They are numbered few,
Until the time
September’s due.
Good-bye old friend
Good-bye old pal
I’ll see you again
After these nine months of hell.
