the thoughts of a lowly pilgrim about the wreck.

The ship of him that rejected you
I saw, “sailing”? No
Dark it stood, lonely and forgotten
All its treasures stolen, all it’s splendor gone
Back from whence it came

The hand of nature had given it to the crag
To the teeth - of the flames;
The worms too have had their say,
Have had their play in its bony frame.

Its proud beams are tall no more
All have tasted rot.
Its voices are gone, drowned I think
the raging flood knew no mercy.

I searched to find just a tinge of hope
A speck of white, from the hull of its lost glory
But there was none,
nothing said hope nothing said joy
It was then I cried
for all was broken, all was dark all was lost.
