Sometimes, life just strikes a funny note!
Potato Mama

I went clothes shopping the other day to find something new to wear
I’m going to NY for my friend’s son’s Bar Mitzvah and it’s going to be a fancy affair.
I tried on dresses and gowns and suits and shoes and outfits to no avail
When I stopped for a moment and looked in the mirror, suddenly my face went pale!

Later that day, I e-mailed my daughter who lives quite a distance from me
I told her about my experience and my sudden, discouraging discovery.
She e-mailed me back, I could tell she’d been laughing about what I had said
But she was supportive about my observation and wrote "it was all in my head"!

Now my weight’s been an ongoing battle with me ever since I’ve been small
I’ve been up and down and on so my diets, I can’t quite remember them all.
Either way I’m attractive but when I am thin I’m really quite a tomato
But I’m not so thin now and what I saw in the mirror was a body that looked like a potato!

Well – I guess it’s back to the drawing board if I can stand to diet once more
Or maybe I should just accept this fate of getting more than what I bargained for.
No one ever said life was easy and we don’t always like what we get
But potato – hmmm, I’m gonna to have to think about it– I may have to diet yet!
