If I told you, it would be like stealing from you. Read and think for yourself.
Look at me, I am the american dream
I am the icon of the material fantasy
I've built my confidence on machines
I am the consumer and the consumed
I do not think for myself, I have someone else to do it for me
Patience is not an option, it's existance is not acceptable
I buy the sacrifices of nameless faces, so I will always be numb
The only taste I know is that of what is made convienient
The only life I know is that which I have been born into
I am a slave of the machine and dime

I am the america that no one sees
You are the america that no one sees
We are a body, consumed by consumption
We are eaten alive by our desires
Work all week for a little rest, a little drink, a little bliss
A temporary escape from the truth that we deny
The truth that we are no longer human
We are the urine of the media, the final product
Mindlessly chasing the american dream that we have been told to have
If you do not want the dream, then you are labeled 'unpatriotic', or 'anarchist'

So long have we been taught that america is the symbol of freedom and justice
But poetic justice has called checkmate
We have bound ourselves with our own lifestyles

In Wall Street we trust
In voice mail we trust
In MTV we trust

I am the american dream
I am the end of humanity
