A personal celebration in the moonlight.
Twilight Celebration

She dances in the glistening twilight,
Hot, steamy sweetness of the approaching darkness
Fireflies fringe the dusky glade,
Their twinkling brilliance a welcome manifestation
Grass cool, damp, fragrant beneath her feet,
She dances with wanton abandon
Dancing for no one but herself,
This is her special, private jubilee,
No need for sharing the moment
Yet, the moon rises up to greet her

Skyclad glowing alabaster softness,
She is magical in the moonlight
On and on the exultation continues,
Her movements a writhing fluid beauty
Sweet rapture in the full darkness,
Unyielding bliss of the dance
Slowly the celebration is over,
She sinks onto the soft ground
Spirit spent she gives in to slumber,
She dreams…

She dreams of the lonely girl,
The girl who does not dance
The girl that only dreams…
Of the dance
