The loss of a relationship.
No more songs to be sung.
No more words to be written.
The love once felt is no more,
Perhaps, I was merely smitten.

His words fall short of his actions.
To give, while he takes and takes,
It wears me down in so many ways -
That my heart no longer breaks.

Melancholy moods enslave me again.
The lonliness felt to the core.
This man I care so much about,
I'm now beginning to deplore.

I feel it best to end the madness,
And just walk away from it all.
I may not be able to walk just yet,
Perhaps I should start with a crawl.

I guess I wanted what wasn't there,
I felt somehow it could be.
As the days have turned to months,
My eyes are now able to see.
