I know with your career and travels, I will have many lonely days...
What a lonely day...
My friends are at work,
my man's out at play.
And I say to myself,

I'm all alone today...

My arms are so empty -
I don't even feel whole,
how could he touch,
clear down to my soul?

Oh, what a lonely day...

This great man I've found,
must leave me someday.
It's not too far off,
I can't make him stay.

I will have many lonely days...

And even if he wanted to be in my arms,
the distance between us, is way to great...
Too many miles from him to me,
for now, I will just have to wait.

I will number the lonely days...

From time to time -
we will drop a line.
But when it is done,
our time, will be sublime.

There will be no more lonely days!
