I have never danced but someday...

The Dance

From years of yearning came the chance
To take his hand and so find romance.
He is tall and stronger than a lot of men,
He will pin me if I don’t give in.

I love him, my body he pulls near
Fingers intertwined he whispers, no fear.
He bends and gently kisses my neck.
Goose bumps, from such a small peck?

I feel the heat, that prickly feeling,
As his hand around my waist is resting.
Yet close I am drawn and the music starts
“Forever in Love” lifts our hearts.

I am melting, but he is in control.
And it starts, as if a simple stroll.
We move, our bodies seem to be one.
Head on his shoulder he says, “Having fun?”

I look into his eyes and am captured,
As our lips meet I feel enraptured.
Our movements sublime, to a slow rhythm,
Eyes upon us, but we care not for them.

This slow dance shall never end,
As it is two souls that now blend.
My heart beating to his measure,
In him I found a great treasure.

Now there is no music and yet we stand,
Faintly moving, to our hearts' band.
I care not for anything but this man,
And for the dance we finally began.
