A day in the gym
On the bike I will pedal
While MTV plays heavy metal
As the watts set the pace
Tears of sweat fall from my face

Another runs, up hill and down
Where stationary treads abound
MTV the paces quicken
With a rap star I am smitten

Oh my heart races plain
Not for the star, but from my weight gain
Is it over I may ask
Nay, ten minutes more is my task

Then the bench, I must find
To flex my chest and numb my mind
MTV is flashing skin
Showing a bikini on someone slim

I lift and groan, the metal shakes
A sound not a song would take
I pump and blow, oh what a show
Leaving sweat on the bench below

To seek butterflies, I now am bound
To flap my arms without a sound
But huff and puff, I must do
Are these butterflies over soon

Jerry Springer is on the screen
While I groan and make a scene
Rep one or two or three or four
Boy I hope I can find the door

Ah the pool I have found
To cool my bod, and cleanse my brow
I float my weight for all to see
A beached whale, is all they need

The Jacuzzi now comes, at last
To soothe my muscles, tightening fast
The jets blow water with all their might
Dear God, I sure hope I can sleep tonight
