if only I could work out what it says!
The meaning of this verse
Is hidden from my eyes.
In spite of how I thirst,
I can't seem to get the prize.

I've tried it every way,
Upside-down and inside out.
I've read it and re-read it twice.
My mind begins to shout.

I almost had it beaten
At a quarter after three,
Due in part, I fancy,
To that extra cup of tea.

Once more ....

Within its wordy challenge,
A meaning do I seek.
The question yet remains,
Why is meaning so oblique?
