Sometimes, all we can do is hide the pain.
Hiding Pain

I sit with wavering smile on my face,
While within, I curl in a hidden place.
I wonder silently with fear intense,
Where do I take this pain of mine?
He tries, with me, to live each day
With joy, life, and special events,
Building memories that I can keep.
There are things inside that scream and shout,
Fighting with terror to force themselves out,
But I push them back behind the wall
Built to ignore he’s waiting death’s call.
One day will be the last:
His life become the past.
I’m not brave waiting to see
My love’s loss that is to be.
