Just a little poem comparing fear to a passing storm.
Rain is sliding down the window,
I wish I could escape,
My back is in the corner,
Fear is etched upon my face.

Wind is blowing harder,
Ping, ping on my rooftop,
Lightning flashes brilliant,
When will it ever stop.

Trees whipping in the chaos,
Bushes scraping at my house,
Another clap of thunder,
Feel like a cornered mouse.

Animals are hiding,
Birds nowhere in sight,
Wonder if they're scared as me,
Of all the noise and light.

Wind is now abated,
Rain patter on my sill,
Thunder distant in the hills,
My heart can now be still.
