Lesson number two in my French study.
French Lesson 2

Some French words look almost like English words. Look at the following list and see if you can recognize what they mean in English.

List of French words for Lesson 2

Notice that proper adjectives are not capitalized in French as they are in English. In English, we write American and African capitalized.

Also remember that the article ‘the’ goes with nouns in French. La goes before a noun considered feminine (has nothing to do with being a girl or a woman). Le goes before a noun considered masculine. L’ goes before a noun beginning with a vowel.

The words in English are as follows:
African bicycle baby actor
American biology criminal algebra
blue carrot director anniversary
Canadian cathedral doctor apartment
charming cereal garden artist
delicious danse lake employee
enchanting family motor enfant
grill guitar paragraph exercise
interesting lamp park history
Italian lesson professor (teacher) hospital
Mexican list program isle or island
modern mama theater uncle
necessary music tiger university

         Au revoir!
