Mary B and her basket full of letters
Little Mary B,
was as happy as could be,
with her little yellow basket
filled with her A's, B's and C's.

Lots of pretty letters,
she carried everywhere.
spelling out things,
that she saw here and there.

"Letters make words,"
she would tell everyone,
"pick a couple of my letters,
see if you can make one."

"Let me give it a try,"
said Bobby Jean with a grin.
she pulled out two letters,
an I and an N.

"What does it spell?"
Bobby Jean asked Mary B,
"What's this word,
can you tell me?"

"I know what it is,
that I and that N,
those two letters together,
spell the word, "in".

Bobby Jean gave a laugh
and said, "this is fun,
now let me see
you spell another one."

Mary B gave her basket
a little shake,
scrambling up the letters
to see what word
she could make.

She pulled out the letters
E, N and D
and said,
"this is the end,
thanks for playing with me."
